International Jewellery London

At The W Collections visit to IJL we met lots of inspirational designers and hopefully we will be exhibiting some exciting pieces soon from some of our favourites.

The star of the show for me was Yuki Mitsuyasu. The thoughtful design and sensitive craftsmanship of her jewellery involve the wearer with their interlocking puzzle halves, customisable chain lengths and hidden magnets.

IJL's trend forcasts can be interpreted by some of the stylish pieces we've got in at the moment.

1.Compositon
Bangles, bibs, collars and cuffs are organic in material and modest in design. Durable metals, luxe plastics, and earthy stones look both natural and modern. Statements are made with overscaled pieces that are chicly simple, rather than with elaborately fancy styles.

2. Evolution

Industrial metals are mixed with natural rocks, feathers, and bone to make for a scavenged look that is at once rugged and glam. Chainmails and stacked strips of metal make for protective armour-like pieces, and rings with crystal spikes resemble weapons. Tribal patterns are created through construction and material placement.

  3. Rave

Bracelets, chokers, pins, necklaces and cuffs made from shiny or industrial metals or plastics look futuristic and manufactured. Soft neons feel cool and new when mixed with neautral metallics. Shapes are geometric
and lines are straight. Pulsating beats and controlled movement is expressed through placed shapes that gradually change in scale.
